Using the traffic light system
I ask students to show traffic light cards for how well they feel they can now explain the complex concept they've been taught.
For instance, students must be able to tell me what the function of the hormone is and its feedback role.
Then I ask all those showing green cards to go and stand next to someone with a red (or failing that orange) card. The challenge is for the green to be able to get their student to explain the concept well enough to achieve green card status.
