London Science Challenge

Coot Nest With Eggs
This web site was initiated by the Curriculum Enrichment and Innovation Working Group of London Science Challenge.

London Science Challenge was set up by London Challenge to bring together key organisations involved in science education in the capital.

The aim is to secure sustained improvement in the availability and quality of science teaching and learning across London schools.

There is a website giving information about the three main strands of activity of London Science Challenge as well as listing all its partner organisations.

London Challenge

The London Challenge was launched by the Prime Minister in May 2003 to create a world-class education system in London. The ambition is to offer challenge and opportunity to the young people of the capital by building on the creativity and diversity that is London's strength.

The London Challenge began as a five-year partnership between Government, schools and boroughs. An extension for a further three years was announced in the spring of 2007. There is a page on the DCSF website to explain the work of London Challenge.
